Sampler Sock Hop This Saturday, April 13

The last Macy’s Arts Sampler of the year brings free music, dance, museums and more to Downtown Cincinnati and the region on Saturday, April 13, and closes with the Sampler Sock Hop in Washington Park from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., featuring the Wonderettes from Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati.

Gallery One One Announces Hue Call for Entry

Oakley, OH – Brazee Street Studios’ gallery One One has opened its annual call for entry for hue:RED. hue:RED will be a shop-like exhibition with functional and non-functional items alike. The call is open to artists, designers and craftsman across all mediums. The idea behind hue:Red is to create an immersive exhibition, alive in RED artwork. Work can be entirely red, partially red, dark red, rose, merlot, burgandy, etc.

Clothing Swap: Cincinnati is series of community events that will bring people together in circles to give-and-take each other’s no-longer worn clothing. Events are free and open to the public, and all are welcome to become involved in organizing future swaps. The upcoming swap will be held at DAAP’s Meyer’s Gallery on The University of Cincinnati’s main campus, across from the Bearcat stadium.

Last Day Deadline: Manifest Artist Residency

April 9, 2013 is the deadline to apply for the Manifest Artist Residency (MAR), which gives one artist, at any stage of their career, free 24/7 use of a two-room studio at the heart of Manifest in Cincinnati for one year, along with Drawing League membership and regular public exposure during the gallery’s receptions.

Cincinnati Art Museum Partners with Google Art Project

CINCINNATI – The Cincinnati Art Museum announced today it will join over 200 existing online art collections through its partnership with the Google Art Project, a collaboration between Google and 200+ acclaimed art partners from across more than 40 countries that work to preserve and promote culture online. Google Art Project will photograph and virtually map works of art featured in the Cincinnati Art Museum.

SOS ART 2013 Call to Greater Cincinnati Artists

1) “SOS ART 2013”, a group art show and event of sociopolitical expressions for peace and justice, in its 11th consecutive year, will take place at the Art Academy of Cincinnati, May 31-June 9, 2013.
